BOZEMAN, Mont., May 19 — Revelyst Inc., a collective of world-class maker brands that design and manufacture sports technology and outdoor gear, today announced the appointment of Dave Mellon as President of Simms Fishing Products and Revelyst Outdoor Performance, the company’s Bozeman-based platform that includes Simms and several other iconic outdoor brands within the Revelyst portfolio.
Mellon officially began on May 18 and is relocating to Bozeman, where he will be based at the Revelyst Bozeman Innovation Center, the headquarters for Outdoor Performance. In this role, Mellon will focus on strengthening Simms’ and the Outdoor Performance brands’ omni-channel strategy, with a particular emphasis on deepening partnerships with specialty retail customers and accelerating product innovation. He will work closely with cross-functional teams to reinforce the company’s commitment to the trade, enhance collaboration with retail partners and help drive the next phase of growth through a renewed focus on consumer-driven innovation and marketplace execution.

A respected outdoor industry leader with deep experience building and scaling consumer brands, Mellon brings a proven track record across premium outdoor, apparel and equipment businesses. He previously served as CEO of Grundéns and earlier held leadership roles at Simms from 2012 to 2014, including Vice President of Marketing and Product. Most recently, he served as CEO within Kian Capital’s private-equity portfolio.
Throughout his career, Mellon has consistently delivered revenue growth, operational improvement and brand expansion across a range of business environments — from established category leaders to emerging and turnaround brands — through a disciplined, consumer-focused omni-channel approach.
He is a purpose-driven leader who believes enduring brands are built around authentic experiences and deep connections with the communities they serve. He has led global organizations of more than 250 employees and managed businesses generating more than $400 million in annual revenue. His experience navigating complex markets, building high-performing teams and delivering for customers will be instrumental as Revelyst Outdoor Performance and Simms continue to evolve and grow.
