Odisha, May 8 (BNP): In view of recent media reports regarding the temporary non-availability of petrol and diesel in a few areas of Odisha, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have clarified that sufficient fuel stocks are available across the state and that the overall supply situation remains normal and stable.

OMCs assure no shortage of petrol and diesel across Odisha!

According to the OMCs, some bordering districts of Odisha witnessed an unexpected surge in demand for petrol and diesel during the first few days of the current month. Responding swiftly to the sudden increase in consumption, the companies initiated coordinated measures to replenish fuel stocks at affected retail outlets without delay.

To ensure uninterrupted fuel availability, additional tank trucks have been mobilised for faster transportation and timely replenishment of stocks at supply locations and retail fuel stations. The companies are also conducting real-time monitoring of inventory levels, with priority supply being extended to outlets reporting lower stock levels.

The OMCs further stated that all major supply points and retail outlets across Odisha currently have adequate stocks of petrol and diesel, and fuel stations are functioning normally without disruption.

Industrial consumers have been advised to procure their fuel requirements directly from the respective oil companies rather than purchasing from retail outlets, as retail fuel stations are not authorised for bulk sale of petroleum products.

Reassuring the public, the companies emphasized that there is no cause for concern and appealed to citizens to avoid panic buying or unnecessary stockpiling of fuel. Consumers have also been requested to rely only on official information and verified updates regarding fuel availability in the state.

The assurance from the OMCs is expected to ease public concerns and maintain normal fuel distribution operations across Odisha.
