Bengaluru, Apr 30: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Gopalan College of Engineering and Management successfully hosted GETOCS V6.0 (Growing Electronics Technology Oriented Congregation Stage), its flagship annual technical fest, bringing together innovation, competition, and academic excellence.

Launched in 2019 under the guidance of Dr. C. Prabhakar and Dr. S. Anantha Padmanabhan, GETOCS has evolved into a prominent platform for budding engineers to demonstrate technical expertise and creativity.
This year’s edition witnessed participation from 506 students across Karnataka, competing in six key events: Technical Paper Presentation, Project Exhibition, Technical Debate, Circuit Debugging, Technical Quiz, and RC Car Race.
The event was graced by Dr. Bhatia as Chief Guest and Dr. Murali as Guest of Honor, both of whom also served as judges for the Technical Paper Presentation.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Bhatia highlighted the need to strengthen capabilities in hardware and semiconductor technologies, while Dr. Murali encouraged interdisciplinary research that integrates electronics with emerging technologies for societal impact.
Dr. S. Anantha Padmanabhan emphasized the growing importance of artificial intelligence in modern electronics, particularly in optimizing communication systems and addressing challenges such as electromagnetic interference.
The Technical Debate on “Electronic Warfare: Boon or Bane” was judged by Mr. G. Anantha Padmanabhan, who noted the inherently destructive nature of warfare. The Technical Quiz was conducted by renowned quizmaster Mr. Dhanasekhar, adding an engaging and competitive dimension to the fest.
The initiative received strong support from Mrs. Sunitha Prabhakar, who highlighted GETOCS as a valuable platform fostering technical excellence and innovation among students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Harsha Jeeth M, followed by vibrant cultural performances that celebrated both technical and creative talents, marking a successful culmination of GETOCS V6.0.
