Lucknow,Apr22(BNP): In a key political announcement ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has promised 300 units of free electricity for consumers in Uttar Pradesh if his party comes to power.
In a statement issued on Monday, Yadav said that under a Samajwadi Party government, households across the state would receive up to 300 units of free electricity. He also reiterated the party’s earlier promise of providing an annual pension of ₹40,000 to women as part of its welfare agenda.
Highlighting public concerns, Yadav alleged that people in the state are facing challenges such as deteriorating healthcare services, shortage of fertilizers, and harassment in the name of smart meters. He claimed that public dissatisfaction is growing over the current system.
Addressing party workers from various districts, including the Bundelkhand region, at the party’s state headquarters, Yadav emphasized that these proposed measures aim to provide relief to citizens and improve overall living conditions.
The announcement is being viewed as a significant electoral promise as political parties gear up for the upcoming 2027 Assembly polls in the state.
