Kolkata, April 22: JIS College of Engineering successfully hosted its annual technical festival, JISTech2K26, at its campus in Kalyani, bringing together young innovators and tech enthusiasts from across the region. The two-day event focused on fostering innovative technological solutions addressing socio-environmental and industrial challenges.

The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from 33 educational institutions, with a total of 283 projects competing across multiple categories, reflecting a strong spirit of innovation and collaboration.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. S. M. Ali, Executive Secretary of Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Prof. Neeraj Saxena, Pro-Chancellor of JIS University, and Prof. Debashis De of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The event was further enriched by the presence of Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, and Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group.

JISTech2K26 featured a diverse mix of technical and non-technical competitions, including Game O’ Fun, Code-Fluenza (coding competition), App-e-Teaser, Science Quiz, Robotics, B-Plan and Start-up Proposals, and Dig-CAD. These events provided students with platforms to showcase their skills in programming, innovation, design, and problem-solving.

Participants presented projects aligned with contemporary themes such as AI-enabled smart systems, disaster management, advanced healthcare technologies, robotics and IoT-driven automation, sustainable engineering, and technology-driven management practices—highlighting a strong focus on solving real-world challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.

Over 20 industry experts evaluated the projects, ensuring alignment with practical applications while offering valuable insights to participants for further development. The festival also featured a prize pool of up to ₹2.5 lakh, along with extensive industry-academia interaction.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Taranjit Singh said,

“JISTech2K26 has once again showcased the remarkable potential of young minds when provided with the right platform and encouragement. The quality of ideas and the strong focus on addressing real-world challenges through technology are truly inspiring.”

JISTech2K26 concluded as a grand success, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to nurturing innovation, collaboration, and future-ready talent.
