On the auspicious occasion of “Akshaya Tritiya” sacred ceremony of initiation of construction of three chariots of Lord Jagannath was completed at Shri Jagannath Mandir,Thyagraj Nagar,New Delhi on 20th April 2026 in accordance with the full rituals as per the rituals followed at the main Shri Jagannath Dham,Puri Amidst chanting of vedic mantras and “Shri Jagannath Swami ki jai”
Thousands of devotees attended the ceremony in order to be a part of the celebration. The Management of the Thyagraj Jagannath Mandir took the bold decision,creating a history that outside odisha ,for the first time ,three raths for three idols would be pulled on the shri Jagannath marg on the day of world famous rath yatra celebration on 16th July 2026.The very announcement of this new event on social media has generated tremendous interest in the minds of devotees in Delhi NCR .
Before this same inspired devotees in odisha arranged to transport the sacred woods collecting the forest in odisha on specifically organized celebration at paldehads odisha.Shri Man Mohan Samal, Honrable MP(RS),The President of the state Odisha BJP attend the ceremony and offered full oblation to conclude the ceremony. Shri Abanikanta sahoo ,who was the instrumental for arranging the sacred wood also present and performed the puja as main “KARTA”.
On this occasion, many senior Govt. officials, Thyagraj nagar Hon’ble M.L.A Shri Neeraj Basoya Ji and Hon’ble M.P,New Delhi,Smt. Bansuri Swaraj ji was also present.
