Hyderabad, Apr 20: The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Hyderabad (IHM-Hyderabad), a premier Central Government institute under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, hosted its grand Annual Awards Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 with pride and elegance, at the grand Annual Awards Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 of IHM-Hyderabad; today at the Institute’s premises in DD Colony, Vidyanagar. The event celebrated academic excellence, outstanding placement achievements, and the holistic accomplishments of its students. It brought together an inspiring blend of leaders from the hospitality, spiritual, and academic spheres, creating a memorable occasion for the institute’s aspiring professionals.

The ceremony was graced by a distinguished galaxy of dignitaries, including Sri Pradyumna Krishna Dasa, Spiritual Leader (ISKCON); Mr. Deep Preet Bindra, General Manager, The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace; Mr. Gaurav K. Kumra, VP & GM, Trident Hyderabad; Mr. Ajit Singh Garcha, Area GM, The Park Hyderabad; Mr. Baranirathan Chidambar, VP Operations, Green Park Hotels; Mr. Vishal Srivastava, General Manager, Vivanta Hyderabad; Mr. Nagesh Pampati, Chairman, TAAI Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Chapter; Mr. Krupakar Ravipati, Assistant Director, India Tourism and Mr. Sanjay Thakur, Principal, IHM-Hyderabad. Their presence added immense prestige and inspiration to the celebration.

The event commenced with a traditional Ganesh Vandana followed by the National Anthem, setting a tone of dignity and unity. In his welcome address, Principal Mr. Sanjay Thakur reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to shaping skilled, industry-ready hospitality professionals. A key highlight was the unveiling of the annual college magazine CACKLE, reflecting the institute’s milestones, creativity, and accomplishments over the past year.

Recognizing Excellence and Achievement

The ceremony honoured faculty and administrative members for their invaluable contributions, acknowledging their dedication in strengthening the institute’s academic and operational excellence.

Placement Highlights

A key highlight was the institute’s strong placement record. Around 40 students secured Management Trainee roles in leading hotel chains, while over 150 were placed across sectors such as QSRs, FMCG, retail, co-working spaces, airport outlets, corporate catering, and facility management. Several final-year students are also progressing towards international placements, reflecting robust industry connect.

Student Achievements

Academic toppers and outstanding sportspersons were felicitated at the Yamuna Ranga Rao Trophy Inter-College Sports Meet, celebrating both excellence and legacy. Creative talent was recognised through the Inter-Collegiate Flower Arrangement Competition, while students excelling in state and national culinary competitions—including India Skills and Everest Better Kitchen—were honoured for their exceptional skill and innovation.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rachna Agashe, HoD, followed by a patriotic rendition of Vande Mataram.
