Bengaluru, April 17: Datadog, Inc., the leading AI-powered observability and security platform for cloud applications, today announced that Superset, a leading digital campus hiring platform, has implemented Datadog to power its high-velocity hiring infrastructure, enabling seamless, reliable experiences for hundreds of thousands of students and institutions.
Founded in 2016, Superset is India’s largest university recruitment platform, managing career services for ~2,200 institutions and processing hundreds of thousands of job offers annually. During peak assessment windows, up to 60,000 candidates connect simultaneously, making platform reliability critical. To maintain that reliability at speed, Superset adopted Datadog from day one, starting with just two virtual machines and scaling its observability alongside the business over the past decade.
As the platform scaled, Superset focused on maintaining speed without compromising stability. With at times six or seven deployments in a single day, the team operates on the principle that mistakes will happen – what matters is catching them as quickly as possible and knowing exactly where the problem is. For a platform where a delayed assessment or interview directly impacts a student’s career prospects, any downtime carries real consequences.
“We implemented Datadog when we had just two virtual machines, and we’ve grown together ever since,” said Pranjal Goswami, COO at Superset. “For a student giving an assessment or waiting for an interview to start at 11:00am, every passing minute of delay raises anxiety. That’s a burden we take seriously. Datadog gives our team the confidence to deploy rapidly because we know that if something goes wrong, we’ll catch it immediately and know exactly where the problem is.”
Using Datadog’s APM, Log Management, Real User Monitoring, and AI-powered anomaly detection capabilities, Superset has delivered measurable outcomes. With Datadog, Superset has reduced production incidents by approximately 80 per cent, while continuing to increase release velocity. The team is able to test new updates in real-world conditions through canary deployments, comparing performance before full rollout to catch issues early.
Datadog has also helped Superset quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues. In one instance, the team identified recurring database slowdowns by tracing the problem to specific queries and tables, enabling them to resolve the root cause much faster than would have otherwise been possible.
As Superset expands beyond India – already serving customers in the UAE and preparing to enter Europe – reliability has become central to its growth strategy. Datadog enables the company to expand into new regions without heavy upfront investment, while supporting local data and compliance requirements. Its monitoring capabilities also help Superset maintain its SOC 2 certification, strengthening its position in regulated markets.
“The focus has always been on delivering outcomes for our students and university partners—our benchmark is zero incidents,” said Goswami. “Datadog allows us to stay focused on building products instead of investing time in creating tools from scratch. We know things can go wrong—but what matters is how quickly we catch and fix them. That confidence helps our teams move faster.”
Superset is also integrating AI capabilities – powered by OpenAI and Anthropic APIs – into its platform and is using Datadog’s AI Observability to monitor these systems in production. This includes catching potential PII leakages into external large language models early, and monitoring per-transaction token usage to optimize prompt engineering pipelines—ensuring accuracy is maintained while controlling costs as usage scales.
“Observability is how we build and scale,” Goswami said. “It’s also becoming essential to how we ensure our AI features are reliable and safe.”
“Platforms like Superset operate in moments that matter – where reliability directly impacts real outcomes for students and employers,” said Namit D’ Cruz, Regional Vice President for India and SAARC at Datadog. “Its approach shows how teams can move quickly while maintaining the performance and trust users expect.”
Looking ahead, Superset is expanding its infrastructure into Europe over the next six months, with Datadog providing visibility into these new environments. The company is also evaluating options to further strengthen data locality for European customers as it scales its international presence.
