Dalmia Bharat Limited Awarded for CSR Excellence at 20th CII–ITC Sustainability Awards 2025

New Delhi, Apr 14:  Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL), one of India’s leading cement companies, has been commended for ‘Significant Achievement’ in the Manufacturing sector under Excellence for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the prestigious 20th CII–ITC Sustainability Awards 2025. The recognition highlights the company’s structured approach towards implementing impactful CSR programmes and strengthening community engagement in its areas of operation. The award ceremony in New Delhi was held in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Shri Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister of Industries, Food & Supplies and Environment & Forest, Government of Delhi and Mr. C.K. Mishra (IAS) Former Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of DBL, drives structured social development programmes reaching over 2066 villages across 20 locations in India. Its implementation approach includes stakeholder consultations, needs assessments and robust grievance redressal systems to ensure consistent impact. The Foundation focuses on livelihood development, skill building, rural infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. Under its flagship Gram Parivartan programme, DBF drives holistic, community-led rural development, having reached over 45,000 households and provided more than 1 Lakhs interventions with a goal of having annual income of more than 1.5 Lakhs. Through its 32 DIKSHa Skill Centres, over 29,800+ youth have been trained, enhancing employability across communities near plant locations. Additionally, initiatives in healthcare, education and rural infrastructure collectively benefit over 100,000 individuals annually, contributing to long-term community well-being.

As part of the award evaluation, Dalmia Bharat Limited’s CSR systems and programme implementation were assessed through a multi-stage process that included documentation review, an on-ground validation visits at its Dalmiapuram facility in Tamil Nadu, and final jury evaluation where the company competed with other leading manufacturing organisations. This recognition reinforces Dalmia Bharat’s continued focus on aligning its CSR initiatives with broader sustainability priorities, including skill development, sustainable livelihoods, water stewardship, climate resilience and rural infrastructure development.
