Mumbai, April 9: Amazon MX Player has launched Kaptaan, a gripping crime drama that blends intense action with emotionally charged storytelling.
Set in the volatile world of Jwalabad, the series follows a fierce power struggle between Saqib Saleem as SSP Samardeep and Siddharth Nigam as Kabir. The narrative unfolds amid organized crime, personal vendettas, and an escalating battle for dominance.
A major highlight of the series is Siddharth Nigam’s physically demanding and immersive portrayal of Kabir. The actor performed his own high-risk action sequences, bringing authenticity and intensity to the character.
Speaking about his experience, Siddharth Nigam said,
“I performed all my action sequences myself, from jumping off heights of around 20 feet to executing continuous one-shot action scenes. There were moments where I even got injured, but for me, that’s part of the process when you’re fully committed to the character. The intention was always to make the action feel authentic, so that the audience doesn’t just see it, but actually experiences it with Kabir.”
He also highlighted the collaborative environment on set, adding, “Saqib bhai is extremely supportive and brought a very positive energy. Working with such talented actors pushed me to bring my A-game to each scene.”
The series features a strong ensemble cast including Kavita Kaushik, Varun Badola, Anjumm Shharma, Aarif Zakaria, Pooja Gor, Vikram Kochhar, and Anushka Kaushik.
Directed by Jatin Wagle and produced by Pammi Baweja and Harman Baweja under Baweja Studios, Kaptaan promises a compelling mix of action, drama, and emotional depth.
