HLL Retail Pharmacy Chains meet global Quality Standards with ISO 9001:2015

Trivandrum: In a significant boost to quality-driven public healthcare delivery, HLL Lifecare Limited, a Mini Ratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has secured ISO 9001:2015 certification for its retail pharmacy operations covering 239 centres nationwide, including AMRIT Pharmacies, AMRIT Opticals, HLL Pharmacy & Surgicals, and HLL Opticals. The certification brings standardisation, consistency, and greater transparency to HLL’s retail network, strengthening patient trust.

 
The achievement comes in a milestone year as HLL celebrates its Diamond Jubilee alongside a decade of AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment). The 10th anniversary of AMRIT was commemorated on 15 November in New Delhi and inaugurated by Shri J. P. Nadda, Hon’ble Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare. The occasion also saw the release of a commemorative postal stamp, inauguration of 10 new AMRIT outlets, launch of AMRIT IT-enabled services (Ecogreen Version 2.0), and rollout of a 24×7 AMRIT National Call Centre.
 
Since its launch in 2015 at AIIMS New Delhi, AMRIT has grown into a nationwide network across 24 States and 5 Union Territories, serving over 72.96 million patients. Medicines worth Rs 18,817.42 crore (at MRP) have been dispensed, translating into savings of approximately Rs 9,235.78 crore and significantly reducing out-of-pocket expenditure .
With over 6,500 medicines, implants, and consumables offered at up to 50 per cent lower prices, HLL’s retail network continues to be a critical enabler of affordable treatment within major government hospitals and healthcare institutions.
 
With over six decades of public health leadership, HLL continues to evolve as a diversified, multi-product and multi-division organisation. Its expanding footprint reflects a sustained commitment to strengthening healthcare access across the country.
