ICAI Bengaluru Successfully Hosts Seminar on Bank Branch Audit; Experts Emphasise Technology & Compliance

Bengaluru, Mar 27: The Bengaluru Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), under the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC), successfully conducted a One-Day Seminar on Bank Branch Audit at The Chancery Pavilion, Bengaluru, witnessing active participation from chartered accountants and finance professionals.

The seminar provided practical insights and up-to-date knowledge on bank branch audits, a key part of the financial ecosystem.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session graced by Chief Guest Joohi Smita Sinha, CGM, State Bank of India, who highlighted the evolving role of auditors in ensuring financial discipline and transparency in the banking sector.

The technical sessions were led by eminent experts:

CA Vijay Srinivas Kothapalli spoke on Smart Branch Audit, covering technology, controls, assurance, and Long Form Audit Reports
CA Sundararajan addressed key aspects of Income Recognition and Asset Classification
CA Niranjan Vijay Joshi delivered an in-depth session on Practical Aspects of Bank Audit, including planning, documentation, and certification

The day-long seminar included interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing, helping participants strengthen their audit practices and stay aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.

The event was organised under the leadership of CA Kavitha Paramesh, Chairperson, and CA Shripad Hulgol Narayan, Secretary, ICAI Bengaluru Branch.
