Mumbai, Mar 24: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of India’s leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies, has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for households and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the transport sector across its operational regions in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Aligned with the Natural Gas Order, 2026, which designates Domestic PNG and CNG as priority sectors, MGL has undertaken key measures to maintain consistent, reliable, and safe fuel supply. These efforts span across its geographical areas, including Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayander, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurga, Davangere, Latur, and Dharashiv.

In addition to ensuring supply continuity, MGL has rolled out a range of customer-centric initiatives to promote the adoption of PNG across its service areas.

Customer Benefits

For Domestic Customers:

  • Free gas worth ₹500 for all new registrations between March 16 and April 30, 2026
  • ₹1,000 bill adjustment for customers in new buildings with over 60% PNG penetration
  • Instant ₹500 discount for web registrations along with waiver of minimum charges during non-usage periods
  • Upcoming zero upfront registration charges, enabling payment only after conversion
  • Flexible payment plan options for enhanced affordability

For Commercial Customers:

  • Waiver of registration charges
  • MGL to undertake downstream infrastructure development at its own cost

These initiatives are designed to make PNG more accessible while maintaining high standards of service and reliability for both residential and commercial users.

MGL has also issued an advisory to protect customers from fraudulent activities:

  • Avoid clicking on unknown links
  • Do not download APK files from unverified sources
  • Never share OTPs or banking details
