Hyderabad, Mar 24: Quality Care India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intuitive, a global leader in minimally invasive care and pioneer of robotic-assisted surgery (RAS), to scale robotic-assisted surgery across its multi-brand hospital network.

Quality Care India Limited Signs MoU with Intuitive to Expand Robotic-Assisted Surgery in Tier 2 & 3 Markets

The collaboration will enable phased deployment of robotic-assisted surgical systems across QCIL’s network, including CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare Hospitals. The initiative aims to strengthen clinical capabilities while expanding access to advanced minimally invasive care in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.

Aligned with QCIL’s broader strategy to enhance advanced surgical infrastructure, the partnership will support the adoption of robotic-assisted procedures across multiple specialties, including thoracic, transplant, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, and surgical oncology.

Commenting on the collaboration, Varun Khanna, Group Managing Director, QCIL, said, “Scaling robotic-assisted surgery across centres requires a structured approach that strengthens clinical capability and programme consistency. Through this collaboration, we aim to enhance readiness across teams and specialties, enabling more patients to access advanced minimally invasive care closer to home, especially in emerging markets.”

Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Intuitive India, added, “We are pleased to collaborate with QCIL to expand robotic-assisted surgery capabilities. Together, we aim to broaden patient access to advanced care, enabling faster recovery and improved clinical outcomes.”

As part of the MoU, Intuitive will provide comprehensive technology training, service support, and ongoing guidance to surgeons and care teams across QCIL hospitals. This will ensure consistent programme adoption, procedural standardisation, and scalable implementation across centres.

Currently, India has over 200 da Vinci surgical systems installed, with more than 1,500 surgeons trained in robotic-assisted procedures across specialties such as gynaecology, urology, general surgery, and oncology. Globally, over 16.9 million procedures have been performed using the da Vinci system, supported by more than 43,000 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

QCIL operates 25 healthcare centres with over 4,500 beds across 13 cities in India, as well as in Dhaka and Chattogram. With over three decades of clinical expertise, the platform delivers tertiary and quaternary care across 39+ specialties, supported by 1,500+ consultants in NABH and JCI-accredited facilities.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building scalable, technology-driven, and outcome-focused robotic surgery programmes, enhancing access to world-class healthcare and improving patient outcomes across diverse geographies.
