IHCL Reinforces Responsible Hospitality, Marks Four Years Of Paathya With Bharat Eksaath Walkathon In Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 23: Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, continues to advance its sustainability and social impact agenda through Paathya, its ESG+ framework.

Marking its fourth year, IHCL reinforced its commitment to responsible tourism with Bharat EkSaath Walkathon –Kolkata edition, an inclusive 3 km walk bringing together associates, their families, local partners, vendors and community across 14 countries in over 200 locations. The funds raised through the walkathon support the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT), reinforcing IHCL’s approach to social impact.

The walkathon was flagged off by Mr. K. Mohanchandran, Senior Vice President- Operations, IHCL.

The Kolkata edition saw participation from IHCL’s key properties including: Taj Bengal,Kolkata, Vivanta Kolkata, EM Bypass, Raajkutir, Kolkata– IHCL SeleQtions, Taj City Centre New Town, Kolkata;, Taj Taal Kutir, Kolkata, Taj SATS Kolkata  and Taj Gangakutir Resort & Spa, Raichak.

The event featured a series of engaging activities, beginning with pre-event kit distribution comprising vests, caps, water bottles, and snacks, followed by a high-energy 30-minute Zumba warm-up session.

Ensuring participant safety and comfort, hydration stations were set up at every kilometre, along with dedicated medical and ambulance support. The event concluded with a specially curated breakfast experience by Qmin for all participants, followed by medal distribution. Similar walkathons were conducted in Jamshedpur, Kurseong, Puri & Sikkim.
