New Delhi, Mar 18: Swiggy and Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) have announced a strategic partnership to foster socio-economic independence among women in the NCT of Delhi. As a part of the partnership, Swiggy and DWCD will aim to integrate members of SHGs into the gig economy as Swiggy’s delivery partners, thereby providing them with flexible earning opportunities. By combining DWCD’s grassroots reach with Swiggy’s technological infrastructure, the partnership aims to create a scalable model for urban female livelihood opportunities.

“The Department of Women and Child Development looks forward to an active collaboration with Swiggy to further the cause of empowering women in the NCT of Delhi by offering flexible earning opportunities. This partnership will enable us to enhance financial autonomy for women connected with Anganwadi hub centres spread in different parts of Delhi besides other women connected with the Department.”
