The event was conducted in association with Krishna Kanth Park Walker’s Association and Telugu Yoga Team and witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 100 walkers, yoga practitioners, recovered kidney patients, and local residents who gathered at 6:00 AM to support the cause. The participation of recovered patients served as an inspiration to many, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, timely treatment, and healthy lifestyle choices in managing kidney diseases.

The initiative aimed to encourage people to adopt healthier lifestyles through regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and timely medical check-ups to prevent kidney-related ailments.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hari Kumar Reddy, Cluster CEO – Aster AP & Telangana, said,

“World Kidney Day is an important reminder that prevention and early detection are key to protecting kidney health. Through initiatives like walkathons and community engagement programs, we want to encourage people to adopt healthier habits and understand the importance of regular health screenings.”

Dr. Praveen Kumar Etta, Senior Nephrologist, added,

“Kidney diseases often progress silently, which is why awareness and early testing are crucial. Simple lifestyle measures such as staying well hydrated, maintaining blood pressure and blood sugar levels, exercising regularly, and undergoing periodic health check-ups can significantly reduce the risk of kidney disease.”

Participants appreciated the initiative and pledged to spread awareness about kidney health and preventive care within their communities.
