MG Majestor: A Bold New Contender in India’s Premium SUV Segment

India’s premium SUV market is witnessing intense competition, and British-origin automaker MG Motor is preparing to make a strong statement with its newest flagship SUV — the MG Majestor. Designed to deliver a powerful blend of luxury, technology, and off-road capability, the Majestor is expected to redefine MG’s presence in the full-size SUV category in India.

With bold styling, advanced safety technologies, and a powerful diesel engine lineup, the Majestor is positioned as a direct competitor to popular SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Škoda Kodiaq.

A Commanding Design That Demands Attention

The MG Majestor is built on the global platform of the Maxus D90 and showcases a strong and muscular road presence. The SUV features a large gloss-black grille, split LED headlamps with slim daytime running lights, and a sculpted bonnet that enhances its rugged appearance.

From the side profile, the Majestor highlights its bold proportions with flared fenders, side steps, and large 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear design is equally striking with wraparound LED tail lamps, dual exhaust finishers, and a chunky skid plate that reinforces its off-road-ready character.

With an overall length of over five metres and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, the Majestor stands among the largest SUVs in its segment, promising strong road presence and generous cabin space.

A Premium and Tech-Rich Cabin

Inside, the Majestor offers a premium all-black interior designed for comfort and convenience. The cabin is equipped with twin 12.3-inch displays — one for infotainment and the other for the digital instrument cluster — creating a modern and connected driving experience.

The SUV also includes a host of premium features such as:

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Wireless smartphone charging

  • 360-degree camera

  • Electronic parking brake

  • Powered tailgate

  • Premium sound system

Higher variants are expected to include advanced driver assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, and autonomous emergency braking.

Additionally, comfort features like ventilated seats, massage functions for front seats, and dual wireless chargers enhance the overall luxury experience for occupants.

Powerful Diesel Engine Options

Under the hood, the MG Majestor is expected to carry forward the robust diesel engines used in the Gloster. Buyers will likely have two engine choices:

  • 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel producing around 158 bhp and 373 Nm of torque

  • 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel delivering about 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque

Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive offered as standard and an optional four-wheel-drive system for enhanced off-road capability.

The Majestor is also expected to feature multiple terrain modes and advanced differential systems to improve traction on challenging surfaces.

Safety and Advanced Driver Assistance

Safety is a key focus for the Majestor. The SUV will offer a comprehensive safety package including:

  • Multiple airbags

  • Electronic stability control

  • Traction control

  • Hill-start and hill-descent assist

  • Tyre pressure monitoring system

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

Higher variants will add Level-2 ADAS features, providing intelligent assistance that enhances driver safety and convenience on highways and in urban traffic.

Expected Price and Market Positioning

The MG Majestor is expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium full-size SUV aimed at buyers seeking luxury, performance, and advanced technology in a single package.

Bookings for the SUV began after its unveiling in February 2026, with a token amount required to reserve the vehicle.

The Road Ahead

With the Majestor, MG Motor is clearly targeting the heart of India’s premium SUV market. The combination of bold styling, spacious interiors, cutting-edge technology, and powerful diesel performance could make it a strong alternative to established rivals.

As the demand for large, feature-rich SUVs continues to rise in India, the MG Majestor may well emerge as one of the most exciting launches in the segment — offering a compelling mix of luxury and adventure for modern Indian buyers.
