Bhubaneswar, Mar 09: In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), George Washington University (GW) experts are available to discuss key issues affecting women globally, from gender inequality and violence against women to women’s health and entrepreneurship. Since 1911, IWD has recognized women’s achievements while promoting gender equality and inspiring action toward a more equitable future.

Mary Ellsberg, Executive Director of the Global Women’s Institute at GW, brings over 30 years of experience in international gender and development programs. With nearly two decades in Nicaragua leading public health and women’s rights advocacy, Ellsberg can discuss global gender inequality and violence against women and girls.

Kathy Korman Frey, industry instructor of entrepreneurship and Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence at GW School of Business, highlights the accomplishments of young women advancing through GW’s Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership program.

Caitlin Murphy, research scientist in the Department of Health Policy and Management at GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, specializes in maternal and child health, women’s reproductive health, and health disparities among vulnerable populations.

Anne Markus, Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management and Acting Director of the Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health, provides expertise on access to care, including maternity care deserts and their impact on pregnancy outcomes.

Adriana Glenn, Assistant Professor at GW School of Nursing, brings three decades of experience as a family nurse practitioner to share insights on women’s healthcare.

Shirley Graham, Director of the Gender Equality Initiative in International Affairs (GEIA) and Program Director for the Global Gender Policy Program at GW Elliott School of International Affairs, offers perspectives on international gender policy and equality initiatives.
